Case Number: 1973863

Complainant: Indoor Advertising/Northwest, LLC

Represented by: Shawn M. Lindsay

A three-member panel of the National Arbitration Forum has found Indoor Billboard/Northwest, Inc., guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking for attempted to use a UDRP complaint to transfer teh domain indoorbillboards.com from its owner. The company, which is based in Portland, Oregon, and operates from the domain indoor.com, had claimed in its filing that it was “unaware of anyone else using the ‘indoor billboard’ name,’ and asserted a current trademark registration as conveying rights in the domain. However, the panel observed this was not only a generic term, but one used to describe a whole line of products produced by an industry known as ‘indoor advertising.’ The RDNH ruling was handed up against Indoor Billboard/Northwest, Inc. on January 20, 2022.
