Case Number: D2023-0532

Complainant: DNVB, Inc. d/b/a Thursday Boot Company

Represented by: Beard and Parks PLLC

Fashion company DNVB, Inc., which does business as Thursday Boot Company, has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking for trying to steal the domain name thursday.com from its current owner, who registered the domain in 2011. DNVB, Inc. saturated an arbitration panel at the World Intellectual Property Organization with no less than 14 trademark registrations for various marks that include the name “Thursday”; however, the panel rejected the argument the fashion company had gained any rights in the domain name.

The sole member of the WIPO panel, Christopher S. Gibson, handed up his ruling of RDNH on May 3, 2023.
