Clothing Maker Wears Cloth Of RDNH Following Failed UDRP

Case Number: NAF 2164205

Complainant: MOVI, LLC

Represented by: Lyndon Cook, Jr.

A three-member panel of the National Arbitration Forum has handed up a ruling of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking against a Utah company that attempted to use a 2025 trademark registration to justify the transfer of a domain originally registered in the 1990’s, movi.com. Panelists Alan L. Limbury, Steven M. Levy and Sandra J. Franklin handed up their ruling against MOVI, LLC on August 18, 2025, stating it should have been obvious such a filing could not succeed on merits.

“[T]he <movi.com> domain name was initially registered in 1995,” the panel wrote, concluding, “and thus prior to the claimed 2019 first use in commerce of Complainant’s MOVI marks, registered in 2025.”
