Company Bids Up RDNH After Trying To Swipe KaufmanAuctions.com

Case Number: 2006249

Complainant: Kaufman Realty and Auctions

Represented by: Andrew R. Burton

In a sua sponte move, a panelist of the National Arbitration Forum has found a company guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking for attempting to steal the domain kaufmanauctions.com. The single-member panel found Kaufman Realty and Auctions guilty of RDNH for filing a UDRP to transfer the domain, even though the respondent never replied to the UDRP. The ruling was handed up by panelist Terry F. Peppard on August 25, 2022.

Kaufman Realty made a claim that the domain had been registered in bad faith in order to sell it to the realtor and auction house; however, the panelist observed the domain was registered more than six years before the company began trading under the Kaufman name.
