The former owner of a domain was found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking by a three-member panel of the World Intellectual Property Organization. Pacific House, LLC, which had owned libertas.org, had used the UDRP process to reacquire the domain, after the company’s attorney inadvertently failed to renew the registration. The current owner of the domain, which is privacy protected, acquired the domain at an auction, and also owns a United States trademark for the mark, “Libertas Institute”, which dates to 2015. Pacific House, LLC, which does not currently have a U.S. trademark registration, and does not do business under the Libertas name, was found guilty of RDNH on December 26, 2021.
