Legacy Tech Company Slapped With Fresh RDNH After Failed UDRP

An IT services company that claims to have existed since the early 1990’s has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking in connection with its use of the UDRP process to try to grab the domain advanced2000.com. The company, Advance 2000, Inc., has a 2011 trademark on the word mark “ADVANCE 2000”, claiming a date of first use in commerce of 1994. The domain in question was registered in 1996.

The lone panelist reviewing the case, Robert A. Badgley, accused the complainant of making “a farce of this proceeding.” Mr. Badgley’s scathing RDNH ruling was handed up on July 15,  2025.
