A Danish maker of medical garments has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking for attempting to steal the domain carefix.com from its owner using the UDRP arbitration process. Tytex A/S, based in Ikast, Denmark, had argued that trademark registrations in the early 1990’s gave it rights in the domain; however, a sole panlist of the World Intellectual Property Organization noted that Tytex had no trademarks for the mark “CAREFIX” at any time prior to the respondent’s registration of the domain name. The panelist, Matthew Kennedy, found Tytex guilty of RDNH of October 31, 2021.
