Order App For Restauranteurs Served An RDNH After Trying For Nextbite.com

Case Number: D2021-3114

Complainant: Nextbite Brands LLC

Represented by: Novian & Novian LLP

A U.S.-based company that supplies online ordering services for restaurants and diners has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking after using a UDRP filing to force a transfer of the domain nextbite.com. A single-member panel of the World Intellectual Property Organization found Nextbite Brands LLC guilty of RDNH for trying to use the administrative process to take the domain from a small Kuwaiti company, also called Nextbite, which has been in business since 2016. The U.S.-based Nextbite did not adopt its current name until early 2019.

Panelist Nick J. Gardner handed up a ruling of RDNH against the U.S. company on December 10, 2021.
