A European-based scholarship program, primarily with outreach across Africa, has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking by a single-member panel of the World Intellectual Property Organization after trying to take the domain unicaf.com from its current registrant, via a UDRP filing. The panel wrote a short ruling against Unicaf LTD of Cyprus, which was internally represented, noting the company, to say nothing of its trademarks, did not exist at the time the domain name was registered, in 2011.
Panelist Marina Perraki handed up the WIPO ruling on January 26, 2023.
