A small company in Eagle Pass, Texas, Empire Industrial Park LLC, has been found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking in connection with its attempt to use the UDRP process to force a transfer of the domain empireindustrialpark.com from its current owner, Empire Industrial Park, based outside of Seattle, in Everett, Washington. The Texas company was formed in 2023, while the Washington-based warehouse park was formed in 1974.
A single-member panel of the National Arbitration Forum, with Bart Van Besien as panelist, handed up a ruling of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking against the Texas company, noting even a simple search using Google would have revealed the existence of the Washington-based industrial park, which the panel wrote, “appears prominently in the top search results.”
The ruling was handed up on July 15, 2025.
